URL actions

- [Instructor] URL actions are a way to take user input and open a URL. Now what this means is we can link our dashboard to a website. Now what's really cool about the way the actions work is it can take values from a selected mark and then pass that to the URL. URL actions work best as a menu option rather than select or hover, otherwise we're going to be opening up multiple browsers any time we interact with the dashboard. Much the same as highlight actions, the field that we use for the URL doesn't need to be part of the view but it has to be in the worksheet, otherwise we can't reference it. Now URL actions can either open up a browser with the appropriate URL, or we can embed a webpage within the dashboard. So let's have a look in Tableau and see how we do that. Here's our example dashboard, and what I want to do is, when somebody selects one of the states, it opens up the Wikipedia page for that particular state.
