Using level of detail expressions

- [Instructor] One great way to analyze your data in Tableau 10 is to create what is called a level of detail expression. Most calculations happen at a specific level such as the detail level for a particular bit of spending. But you can also calculate aggregate measures such as averages or sums. And until Tableau 9, you weren't able to mix those two different levels of detail in an expression. You can, and you can still do it in Tableau 10, and I'd like to show you how to do it. My sample file is the Level of Detail workbook and you can find it in the Chapter 4 folder of the exercise files collection. This workbook contains a single visualization and it displays the spending for each of my cities in 2015 and 2016. What I'd like to do is to find the difference from the average of all spending for each of those values.
