- [Instructor] Linear regression identifies the equation that describes your data with minimum error, but it only works for specific kinds of data. In this movie, I will show you hot to plot data so that it makes sense to do linear regression. My sample file is the zero three zero four scatter workbook, that's a tablet package workbook, you can find in the chapter three folder of your exercise files collection. I've already brought in data and you can see under measures that I have distance, order count, and sales. In this case, I want to plot order count versus sales and a scatter chart, so I will drag order count to the columns shelf, and then sales, which is what I want to predict, to rows, and you can see here that I have a single value order count of 476 and sales of over 15,000 and that's because I'm taking an aggregate, I've got the sum of all those values.
