- [Instructor] When it comes to Lenart and UX design you can't avoid the fact that when it comes to mobile, small equals fast. And fast equals a happy user. Thus the importance of vector graphics in UX design. Vectors are nothing more than code, and computers just adore code. This explains why SVG graphics are so important when it comes to prototypes. A bitmap like an image requires the device to map each pixel and its color to a screen. SVG says, well draw the shape, here are its values, put it over here, and fill it with a color. This explains why there is a pen tool in UX Pen. It can be used to draw vectors. Now don't go getting all giddy and uninstalling Illustrator or other vector drawing applications. The UX Pen Tool allows you to draw simple shapes, and edit them. Anything more than that, and you need to open Illustrator or another vector drawing application.
