2D UI vs. 3D UI

- [Instructor] User interface and user interaction are a very important part of any AR experience. The UI should look good, it should be clean and minimalistic, and it should be intuitive. Most of the apps on the App Store and Play Store have a 2D UI. That is, they have onscreen buttons, or text, or other UI elements. 'Til now, our app also has a duty UI. So we have this Place button and the Hide UI button, and also a warning text which appears when the light is low. In an AR experience, we don't just have the 2D screen space available to us. We also have the whole 3D environment around us. So we don't need to be restricted to just our 2D screen space to add the UI elements. We can add the UI elements to our real world space, as well. Let me show you an example. So in our AR car app, I have added a 3D color palette. When a user taps on any of these colored balls, the car body color changes to that color. This is an…
