Adding spots for accents and washes
Once you've lit your scene generally with point lights for fill, you can start to think about spotlights for wall washes and accents, and also if there's practical fixtures that need them. To create a spotlight, choose Game Object>Create Other>Spotlight. There's a spot in the scene, and it's shown as a cone. I'll spin around so I can see it a little better. What you can see here in this scene is that I've added in a few more point lights. I'll go into a wireframe and we can see one in each vault and they kind of string down the street, filling general areas with light. Now take my spotlight, and position it as a down-spot to give me, maybe the illusion of overhead lanterns. I'll press F to focus in and zoom in on it. A spotlight is defined by a radius, or a spot angle, and a range. The spot angle increases in degrees. And as we bring this out, we can really start to see that spot on the ground.
