Creating light probes

When we light a scene, we use our baked lighting for smooth lighting, smooth shadows, and bounce light between surfaces. We use our dynamic lights to give shadows on things that are moving. Sometimes we need to have kind of a middle ground, and for that we have light probes. The idea in light probes, is we'll identify a light probe group of objects with probes in it, in a volume. And let the light baking happen within probe groups, so we can have more of a dynamic light between them instead of one light bake for absolutely everything. To begin with light probes, I'll select an object such as the floor here, between these two shops, and I'll choose Component > Rendering > Light Probe Group. Now that I've made a group which shows up as a component on the inspector, I'll add a probe in, clicking Add Probe. And there's the probe, showing as a small, blue sphere, actually slightly under the ground. I'll pull it up, and move it down on its red x-axis towards me. There's our light probe…
