- [Instructor] Hi there, today is material day, and we're going to show you how to bring materials from 3ds Max into Unity using Adobe's Substance. Now, if you've brought 3D models in from basically any package, typically you'll use a file format such as FBX. Now, FBX doesn't support a lot of the advanced rendering features that we're used to. It basically supports blend and Phong shaders but not advanced shaders such as those we'll use in Arnold or V-Ray, and those are physically-based rendering shaders. Now, one way to get around this is to use a material manager. In this case, I'm using Substance, which is a very popular material authoring and editing package. Now, if you want to, you can go to substance3d.com, and there's a number of different packages that are supported. This is an Adobe product.
