USDZ files
- [Instructor] USDZ stands for universal scene description. It is a file format for 3D models introduced by Apple in collaboration with Pixar. The file formats such as FPX and OBJ that we usually use only has the mesh data of the object, that is, it just contains a raw 3D file. Textures and materials are not included in those file formats. USDZ, on the other hand, is a compact single file containing all the information about the mesh data, textures and materials. We don't need any app to view USDZ files. We can open USDZ in our iOS devices to view simple AR experiences. These files can also be embedded on a website to enable web-based AR experiences. In the next video, we'll see how to create USDZ files.
