What is raycasting?

- [Instructor] Raycasting is the process of shooting an invisible ray from a point in a specified direction to detect whether any colliders lay in the path of the ray. So basically an invisible ray is projected from your device into the real world. And if that invisible virtual ray hits an object which has a collider, then we know that there is an object present in the path of the ray. And we can get various properties of that object, such as name and transform. In the next couple of videos, we'll create a balloon shooting game in which an invisible virtual ray is projected when we press the shoot button. And if any balloon is in the path of that ray, it bursts.
