- Hi, I'm George Maestri. When you work with Unity, you want to keep the weight of your scenes fairly low. And by that, I mean you don't want to have unnecessary polygons in your scene because that will make your scenes run slower. Now, one of the most important ways to achieve this is to use what's called level of detail, and this successively reduces the size of your models as you get further away. So let me show you how this works. We're actually going to do this in Maya, but you can do this in Blender or really any other package. And we need to create what's called a level of detail. So, in our edit window, you'll see we have these level of detail controls. So what we want to do is select an object and create what's called a level of detail group. If we take a look at the options for that, it's very simple, it's either by distance or screen height percentage, and I've already created one here in my scenes. So you can…
