- [Instructor] Often you'll want to play footstep sounds in response to particular events and synchronize them to your animations. For example, we have a player character here. When I press play on the toolbar, I can use the arrow keys on the keyboard, W, A, S and D to move the character around. W moves the character away from the camera, S towards and A and D move the character side to side. Now this character as it stands, can run around the level but as they run, they don't play any footstep sounds. We saw earlier how we could use a technique to simply play the footstep sounds on repeat. However, here we'll see a slightly different technique that synchronizes the footsteps to the animations so that the footstep sounds play as the feet make contact with the floor.
