- [Instructor] If you're not familiar with VR, or never experienced it yourself, this is a great introduction for you. Otherwise, feel free to skip this video. VR, which stands for virtual reality, is the platform to experience virtual worlds that truly immerse you in these 3D environments. You need to wear a headset which allows you to enter the virtual environment, and in most cases, the worlds are rendered in 3D. When you connect, your avatar or digitized form appears in a specific X, Y, Z coordinate where you can roam through the levels or experiences that were created. You've probably experienced this in games or even certain theme park rides. The only requirement to qualify a virtual experience as VR is that you're immersed in this virtual world with a complete disconnection from reality.
