- [Instructor] Building the final scene in your gaming engine and all the previous steps mentioned in this chapter isn't a straightforward step-by-step process. When some of the models are finished, artists get started on animating them even though the final textures aren't yet ready. In fact, it is often better to animate without the high resolution final textures as it take a toll on the system used and it is better to create the animation with low-res models, which are typically called low poly models. This stage of a production is often a chaotic work-in-progress, where the team works on moving the project along as they get items ready. In our gaming engine, in this case, Unity, simple shapes that were used to block the scene will slowly be replaced by models and be animated. Depending on the resources available in your production environment, the textures could be added at this stage or later when the team tests the final look, again, to save on system resources if need be.
