Exploring 2D games
- [Instructor] In the previous chapters of the course, we looked at 2D elements relating to UI. We saw how we could build menus and buttons, and even respond to button clicks. In this chapter, we're going to be looking at 2D features in other areas of games development. In particular, we're going to look at sprites, animated sprites, and other kinds of 2D games, complete with physics, as well as tile sets. To start to demonstrate the 2D features, I've opened up the 2D game kit project, provided by Unity Technologies. You can easily download this 2D game kit from the Unity Asset Store. I'll bring in a web browser window here, and you can navigate to the link presented in the address bar, or search for 2D game kit, provided by Unity Technologies, completely free of charge. You can visit the Asset Store, hit the 'add to my assets' button, to bring that into you Unity project, and to check out a fully-functioning 2D game…
