Introduction to materials in Unity

- [Lecturer] To begin to understand materials in Unity let's start by creating a blank material and taking a look at what's inside. Let's go to our assets and create a new folder for materials. This is where I like to keep materials that can be applied to any part of the project and aren't for a specific asset like a piece of furniture. Within that folder we can right click and create Material, let's name it Test. Over here in the Inspector tab we can take a look at what makes a material. First of all we have the shader. The shader is what tells the engine how to render a material. And it is what gives a material all of the parameters that you see here below. There are a number of shaders built into your engine at this point, but for now we're gonna stick with Standard. First we have the Rendering Mode which includes Opaque, and a number of different kinds of transparent rendering loads. We'll stay with opaque. Then Albedo, this Albedo is the general color and look of the material. If…
