Modeling your characters and environments

- [Instructor] Now comes the time to model your characters and environments. We won't be covering how to model in a 3D environment, as this is beyond the scope of this course, but we'll explore the software. You need the proper skills to create your models. Modeling your 3D models will be executed in the package like Maya, or Zbrush, where the models are made of squares or triangles, all created with points in the X-Y-Z coordinates I've mentioned earlier in this course. Any elements will be made using a combination of spheres, cubes, and other similar shapes, and slowly model into recognizable character or prop for a scene. A typical workflow is to get started with simple shapes into the gaming engine to block the scene. Then move to the 3D packages to create them, and as the elements are built, they will be added to the scene in the gaming engine and replace the original shapes we used to block the scene.
