Build a rig in Maya
- [Instructor] Now that we have our flower blend shape working, we're going to rig the stem so we can animate it for then proper import into Unreal. Okay, so first we're going to go on here. We've got our flower that we know. We have our stem geometry visible. I'm going to select the FLOWER_CLOSED and OPEN in the Outliner and Control + h to hide them. We've got the stem visible. I'm going to go to Panels, Orthographic, Front, just so we see the front view. I'm going to hit the four key so we go into Wireframe mode. Then I'm going to go into the Shading menu here and turn X-Ray Joints on so we can see the joints better as we're working. Okay, let's make sure that the Grid Snapping is on, that little icon is on, and make sure that we're in the Rigging menu, and we'll go to Skeleton and then go Create Joints. Now I'm going to draw a joint every grid unit here. Okay, cool, so now we have a joint chain. I believe this should be 21 joints. Let's open this up. Let's look in our Outliner. We…
