Creating basic materials
- [Instructor] With a bit more familiarity under our belts regarding how our V-Ray materials are working in Unreal Engine, let's take a quick look in this exercise at creating some basic, everyday materials that we could perhaps then build on in order to create more interesting material effects, the first of which will be a basic plastic or vinyl-type surface. To begin, then, with our test material instance still open, let's make sure that we do have the V-Ray PBR material set as its parent, with everything set at default. And that the V-Ray shader ball sitting on the table in our scene is selected. Finally, let's add this material to the element zero material slot. To control the color part of our material, then, let's come to the base color controls at the top of the parameter groups rollout, where we can either put a check in the base color checkbox and then left-click on the color swatch to alter the color of the surface…
