Environmental lighting

- [Instructor] Environmental lighting is what fills the whole scene with light, as opposed to just adding details, effects, or highlights. This is primarily achieved with directional and sky lights. Directional lights are like the sun. They have an infinitely wide source, meaning all the rays are parallel and heading into the scene at the same direction. It's perfect for light streaming in through a window, like this. You can control the parameters in the Details panel like any other light. Intensity affects the amount of light emitted, so try dialing it up and down until you find a level that you're happy with. You can also enable or disable the light, as well as its shadows, by clicking these check boxes. Another area that can have a big impact on quality of your shadows is Shadow Bias and Sharpness. They can be found in this dropdown menu below. Notice as I drag Shadow Bias down lower, it starts to add in a striation…
