- [Instructor] In this segment, I'm gonna give you a broad overview of Unreal Engine Four's materials and how to use them and where to find some for your own projects. So Unreal defines any material as an asset that's applied to a static mesh that affects its visual quality, things like color, roughness, reflectivity, or transparency, are all affected by materials. So first things first, where do we get materials to apply to our scene? Let's begin by heading over to the Epic Games launcher and then clicking on the Marketplace button on the left. Now there's a ton of assets in the marketplace both for money and for free, but we're just going to narrow it down to Materials for now. Now there's some really cool stuff in here, but again for now we just want to filter it and focus on just the free ones. So there's a couple of material packs in here. The GameTextures is a pretty diverse set of materials, but there's some good ones, there's some wood flooring and some stone tiles, some water…
