- [Voiceover] Experience maps are a great way of making multiple user observation data points actionable. You can see which areas were issues for several users, and which caused the most pain. You can also gather users' vocabulary, which is useful for learning how they think about the system and how you should label things in your new design, and about users' traits which is useful for creating personas. You'll most likely be surprised by the way that users approach tasks that you consider to be simple, and if you're serious about observation and data gathering you'll end up with a rich set of user data that you'll refer back to throughout the rest of the user-centered design process. Going out on site visits to observe real users and then bringing your data back to analyze can seem a bit daunting at first, but it's a fun activity, especially when the whole team is involved, and especially when you can work together to uncover pain points that you realize you can solve.
