- Having already seen how we can create a depth of field effect using the V-Ray physical camera, let's take a look now at how we would go about creating that same effect when rendering from a 3ds Max perspective viewport. Indeed, the workflow we will look at in this video would also be applicable, should we be rendering with the standard 3ds Max camera, also. At this moment in time, we are looking at our scene through a V-Ray physical camera, so let's change that by making certain that our viewport is selected and then hitting the "p" key to switch over to a perspective view. Now, of course, that does present a little bit of a problem, as our scene's lighting has been set up using the V-Ray physical camera's exposure controls. One way to get around this particular problem would be to come into the "Environment and Effects" dialog using the eight key, and from the "Exposure" drop-down, choosing the "VRay Exposure Control" option.
