- [Instructor] As well as being able to export scenes in a V-Ray specific format that can be imported into other DCC applications that use the V-Ray plugin, something else we can do is export and import standalone objects using either the .vrmesh or .abc formats. The latter of course being the file extension for Alembic cache files. Better still, is the fact that as of V-Ray 3.2, we no longer need to try and find such files on disc, using a time-wasting import and delete process inside of Max itself. As we can instead, make use of an external program provided by Chaos Group, called the V-Ray Mesh Viewer, which supports both static and animated V-Ray mesh, and Alembic file viewing. Now my only complaint at this moment in time, is that we don't really have a clean and easy way of launching these kind of tools from inside the Max 2016 UI, such as from the V-Ray toolbar. To negate that problem, before we go ahead and take a look at the Mesh Viewer itself, I'm going to use a MAXScript…
