- So now we are at the point where films contain sync sound, and filmmakers are really learning how to incorporate sound within the cinematic environment. As I said in the previous movie, now that sync sound was part of the world of film, all components of the moving image were pretty much in place with the exception of color, but that was on the horizon. Editing wise, however, filmmakers finally had the building blocks necessary to really begin to tell the stories however they wanted. And because these building blocks are in place, we really aren't introducing new elements into the story of editing anymore, we're just talking about how editing styles evolved from here on out. So, in the next two movies were going to be covering a lot of ground as we explore how editing evolved from this point on.
