Adjusting a raw file
- In our last example, you saw what happens when you encounter a RAW file. RAW files mean that the file contains most or all of the information that was seen by the camera's sensor. Typically, DSLR and mirrorless cameras can capture RAW files. However, it is possible even on mobile phones to use Adobe's DNG format with specialty applications. This gives you tremendously more flexibility when editing, and is always desirable whether you're the photographer or you're working with the photographer, see if you can get access to the RAW files. Stock photo services will rarely make them available, but if you're working directly, you can usually access these. Let's open up a few RAW files here from the folder. I've selected four of them, and I choose Open. What you'll see is that each of these images has different problems. Notice in this case, it's tremendously under-exposed. I recommend that you turn both triangles on here…
