Usually this is because people are measuring what we call vanity metrics in the forms of views, likes, shares, subscribers, followers, things of that nature without determining whether that adds up to a real legitimate goal that they have for their video that accomplishes something very specific. Is this video intended to drive more traffic to your website? Is this video intended to make direct sales? Is it to qualify your audience or generate leads?
