- So Rich, we mentioned earlier that having a mount point so you can mount additional audio gear is important, and we mentioned that cold shoe, that a lot of devices are going to have, to be able to help you mount that. But when it comes to getting good audio, especially for a live stream, in my opinion it's all about directionality. Because in a live stream you're looking at this, then you're looking at that, and then you're talking to this person and so on, and the mic that is most apt to give you that directionality that we're talking about is something like a shotgun mic. - [Rich] And by directionality we mean that the mic is focused, that it's only picking up sound from a very specific area. In other words, what you're pointing it at. - Right, and so a shotgun mic is a long, cylindrical mic that comes in different lengths.
