- You want to make sure you back up all your files as you work and especially once a job is done. The last thing you want to do is redo what you've already created and spent all that time on, so you should back up your work often. That way if your computer goes down or you lose a hard drive, you don't want to lose days or weeks of work. Now, you can set up a cloud backup that constantly backs up your data as you work. We have that on our systems here. That's a really safe way to work as long as the service doesn't affect access to your files. If you do lose a hard drive or your main computer goes down, all you have to do is log in on another system and access your files and continue working. It's great. We also use RAID drives like this one, like the Drobo or the Synology. You don't lose files when a drive goes down because they spread your files over multiple hard drives.
