- It's pretty sad to know that most people only think about backups when there is a serious issue like corrupted data or missing assets. I believe everybody should have a consistent and repeatable backup system that should be implemented from day one. There's something called the three, two, one backup rule. And I like it because it has a catchy name and a simple approach. The three, two, one rule States that we should keep at least three copies of our data, two backup copies on different media with one of them offsite. And here's a real life example. I'm shooting these videos and these scores with two cameras and I'm recording straight into solid state drives one and two, as soon as I'm done, I'm going to download these two solid state drives into two external hard drives. I'm going to leave the two solid state drives. And one of the external hard drives here in the studio. And I wannna take one of the hard drives…
