Black and white conversion

- One type of image I love is a good, rich black and white. It's a classic style, and it's been used forever, since the invention of film, because originally, black and white images were all we had. But black and white can have a lot of character, subtle hints or tones, and it's not as simple as just stripping out the color. Photoshop has some amazing tools for this, and you can even use those to generate a lookup table. With an image open, go to the adjustments panel, and choose black and white. This gives you the ability to make a black and white image by adjusting these sliders. Clicking the auto button will attempt to make the initial conversion. Note that by dragging the blue slider for example, I was able to darken the blue sky, which was much more impressive to bring out the contrast of the clouds.
