- Are you scared to be in front of the camera? Many people are uncomfortable on camera because they have never been taught how to stand or speak for video. With these seven tips, you'll gain the confidence needed to feel more relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. Tip number one, stand up. The number one mistake is to hide half of your body behind a desk. When you're standing, you come across more confident and less guarded. Tip number two, use your hands. Keep in mind for video we'll be doing hand motions that you'd never use in face-to-face conversation.
