Bounce light vs. direct light

- So earlier in this course, we talked about bouncing light, bouncing it off walls, different surfaces. But what I want to kind of get into a little bit here is different materials for bouncing. Now a lot of these things can come from your local hardware store or arts and crafts supplies store. And some of them are professional options that you actually buy. So the first one I want to get into is foam core. Foam core is something that you probably used in art class in high school or college. It's basically two pieces of cardboard with some foam in between. It tends to be pretty durable stuff. (soft knocking) You can pretty much beat it up, and that's part of the advantage of it. It's pretty rigid, but it's also a little bit pliable. You can bend it, you can cut it. And it's a really good DIY diffuser. Foam core has the tendency to be a very stark white, a very pure white bounce. It also tends to be a little bit spotty. It tends to have a little bit of almost like a one-to-one ratio…
