- Methodically breaking down your script and its scenes will ensure that you and your talent are figuratively and literally on the same page when it's time for production. When you look into your scripts, you're going to need to know what the point of each scene in that script is. Remember that you and the talent are working toward a goal. So you need to know every bit of what you're working toward. You want to know how each scene fits into the telling of your story and how each scene relates to each other. What you're looking for is to find the journey of your story. Where does it start? Where does it go to? And then, where does it end? And you want to make a list of possible routes for each scene on how you get through that journey. To do that, you're going to need to make a list of questions that you need to answer for each and every scene.
