- When it comes to video, consistency between shots is very important. Unlike still photography where you could have a picture that is black and white, the next one is color, one is horizontal, one is vertical, you cannot do that with video. The exposure, the contrast, the settings need to match from shot to shot. Even if they were shot days or weeks or months or even years apart. So, technically speaking there are a few things that you need to be aware of, one of them is shutter speed. The rule of thumb is you want to multiply your frame rate by two to get to the shutter speed that you should be using. In other words, if you're using 30 frames per second which is a great frame rate for multi-media and online projects, 30 times two is 60.
