Choosing a recording format

- When it comes time to record, your Blackmagic Camera likely offers multiple settings. The exact settings will vary depending upon the camera model, but typically, Blackmagic uses the Apple-friendly ProRes codec that also works on Windows computers. They have introduced additional formats through the years, including CinemaDNG for RAW, and the much newer and more efficient Blackmagic RAW. Accessing these is pretty straightforward. On your camera, engage the menu system. Then, navigate to the record tab. Depending upon the exact model of the camera, you'll see a couple of choices. In this newer version of Blackmagic cameras, the URSA Mini and the Pocket Camera have the same choices. I could choose to shoot RAW or ProRes. If I shoot the RAW format here, you see there's really two choices. I could choose a constant quality method here, and you have two methods here.
