- Momentum is a valuable commodity in a production. The thing that surprises most people from the outside is how long it takes to do everything on a movie set. This has nothing to do with problems. It's just that the event on screen that takes only a moment to happen is usually constructed from multiple takes. And no matter how short that gesture or facial expression might be, it takes a lot more than that brief moment to film it. It's crucial to be efficient, because you have to multiply out all the little delays that can happen per shot by how many shots you need to construct each scene. There are common problems that can bog a production down. But there are solutions to these. Don't make the same mistake over and over again. Remember, just because you don't have a solution doesn't mean you don't have a problem. When you know something isn't going well, stop. Analyze the problem.
