- When it comes to composition, there's a couple things you wanna keep in mind for what we did with the interview for the video ad. One is that we made sure that the camera was at eye level with our subject Lindsay from Mothersun and the Captain, in order to make sure that we felt like we were there in the interview. On top of that, on certain DSLR cameras, in fact on a lot of DSLR cameras, there happens to be grids that you can place up on the camera to better compose your shot. One of these is a rule of thirds, which literally splits up your screen into nine different sections, and that by placing your subject, or your main subject on one of these intersections, can be very helpful for the way that your shot looks. Keeping this in mind and potentially combining it with what's called a 80% safe area is a really good idea.
