- One of my favorite things to do on a location scout is walk around and start visualizing all those shots and scenes that we're going to take. This is where that smartphone comes into play. So using that smartphone and taking those test shots is really going to show us how this story's going to come to life in this environment. So see here. This was a doc that I took, again, with the Panascout app, and if you see how I was able to visualize and bring it to life, and it actually matches pretty close, 'cause we ended up loving the way it looked. I also, when I'm taking test shots, like to have people stand in so you start getting a feel of what the scene would look like with people or whatever actors or characters you're going to have in your scene. So here, you can see how I was doing a location scout for a PSA, and I actually stood in and the DP was taking photos of me, but then you see how they ended up really showing us…
