Creating a technical brief

- It used to be quite simple in the world of photography and video. We made prints, and we shot video, and things didn't vary that much. Now we have lots of options, from formats, and resolutions, and delivery types. Is it a widescreen video? Is it vertical video? What are we doing with photography? Does it move? Is it time lapse? Is it footage and stills? So I suggest creating a technical brief where you spell out the key technical properties that need to be kept in mind. With photography, this would include information like the capture formats. Are you capturing RAW files? Are you capturing JPEG? What do you need to deliver, edited JPEGs or the native files, direct from camera? What are the file formats that the client is expecting? Are they using this for multimedia? Do they have the software necessary to work with the images that your camera produces? What's the color space? Is it for the web? Is it…
