Crew communication procedures

- [Instructor] The FAA requires that the report pilot in command and other crew members coordinate to scan the airspace, maintain awareness of the position of the drone, avoid collision, and maintain safety. To accomplish this there must be some kind of communication procedure established between the remote pilot in command and the crew. It can be with two way radios, hand signals, cell phones, or any other means or real-time communication. Keep in mind that the person manipulating the controls may not have their hands free to push any buttons. Once you establish the way that you will communicate with your crew, it is important to keep all crew members up to date as to what is happening. To effectively do this please keep the following in mind. Listen before you transmit. Think before you speak. Place the mic close to your mouth and speak normally.
