Crewing your production

- You've chosen your location, and it's now time to start thinking about your crew. And that also has to do with the scale of your production. I would say that on smaller productions, let's say that round-table discussion, that you might be able to approach it more traditionally, the way you are thinking about a production already, but you might need more cameras. So in that situation, we're going to have a producer-director, we'll have a director of photography slash lighting director, and we're also going to have camera operators, somebody who's dealing with the audio component of it, you may or may not have somebody who's dealing with talent, but that also might fall on the producer-director in terms of their role. And then, we scale up, and when we scale up to larger productions, we're going to have to start to think of that crew a little bit differently. Each person doing an individual specific role.
