DIY beauty dish

- So this example of a DIY light is called a DIY beauty dish. And really all it is, is it's a work light. Now I'm sure you've seen these before, these little clamp lights. They have this clamping mechanism that sort of works, but not really. And so this actually can be used for a film shoot. The idea of a beauty dish is that it is a cone just like this where the light is trapped and then throws itself out. But what we're going to do is we're going to double bounce that. The idea of a beauty dish is that the light comes out, it hits a small diffuser, bounces itself back into the cone, and forces out really soft, really pleasant, really nice light. (upbeat music) I'm going to take a permanent marker. We're going to take our roll of gaff tape and a piece of foam core, and I'm going to cut a circle. I'm going to take a knife and I'm just going to go ahead and punch a hole. I'm just going to go ahead and take a zip tie and tie it to this grill that's on here. Basically, there you have it…
