Defining the objectives of a project
- When you go to kick a new project off, it's really important that you define the objectives. These are the things that you are seeking to accomplish that will make the sponsor happy. Whether that's an internal or an external client, somebody ultimately undertook the project because there was something they wanted to happen. There are three things to think about. The first is the overall schedule. I always say, before we start to design a video, a website or a photo shoot, I need to understand the constraints. How much time do I have, both for the actual acquisition, as well as the post processing and the delivery? The schedule will often affect what it is we want to accomplish. The next section that you have to consider is the performance goals. What is the outcome of doing this work?
