- We just covered some basics about writing your documentary pitch. I'd now like to demonstrate how I might present my pitch for the ProjectRelo film to investors. Casey spent a decorated career in the Army leading men and women all over the world in high stakes missions. He came home with a purple heart and the pride of his nation. After retiring, he thought it would be easy to transition to a good civilian career. It wasn't. He applied for hundreds of jobs and couldn't break through. Working odd jobs and living out of his jeep, Casey felt hopeless. Casey is more than one of 200,000 transitioning US Veterans each year, many of whom have a hard time getting good jobs. ProjectRelo is a non-profit that helps people like Casey, but they do it in an amazingly unique way. Instead of helping one veteran at a time like so many other non-profits do, they flip the problem around. They go after the ones doing the hiring, and they do this by sending CEOs and hiring managers off with veterans…
