Developing your content calendar

- A content calendar is exactly what it sounds like. You're taking the content that you have, and you're assigning dates and times to it. Now, you don't have to get extraordinarily granular with this and plan every single piece of content for every single day of the year. Some people do that. I'm not a fan of this approach. What I prefer to do is, I like to establish themes that give me a loose sense of when I'm going to release certain types of content. And then I can get more specific there in terms of months and weeks, and maybe even individual dates. An example of this would be the first quarter of a year. I focus a lot on content that has the title Getting Started, or How To. Because in the beginning of the year, a lot of people are making changes. They're making decisions. They're setting priorities. And a lot of people are participating in new ventures. So I like to be their gateway at the beginning of the year to getting started. And so that's how I approach that content. Now…
