Enhancing with styles
- Photoshop offers a wealth of layer styles that can be used to quickly enhance an image. Now, in this case, I want to return to an image we worked with earlier, the vector logo, but if you haven't opened it, just open any file and you can see the same effects in play. Here we placed the vector logo in the corner and what I want to do is create a little bit of separation. With the layer selected, I can click on the pop-up list here and you see our choices. For example, I can add a small drop shadow and you see that it places the drop shadow, let's change the color here of that drop shadow to dark. Well, right now, it's really quite large and acting more like a glow. What I'm going to do is tighten that up. Let's set that to be 10 pixels offset at a slight diagonal, we'll set a smaller spread and the size to 20 pixels. Now we have a nice, soft, gentle drop shadow.
