So we've gotte to the point where we have everything laid in. All of our audio elements and all of the visuals. Now it's time to watch it, and watch it, and watch it again. We need to keep going back through the edits to make final tweeks of our rough cut. At this point you should make sure that all the audio and video components are working very well, because when it's in a really solid place we should begin showing it to colleagues to get their input. This is such an important part of the process because you need to see if it's working. The danger with editing is that you're obviously very close to the material. You stress over the smallest details, and often this means you might be missing something in terms of the audience's understanding of a certain point, or you may misinterpret the viewer's perceptions about tone or flow.
