- All right, so now that you're story's starting to take shape and you've got a story skeleton to hang it on, it's time to start the process of turning that into a screenplay. Now first let's take a moment and talk about what a screenplay is. A screenplay is the blueprint for the story that you're going to be telling, visually. It is not the thing, itself. It is not a description in words of every single frame that you're going to end up shooting. But what it is, is it's a document that gives you all the info you need in order to shoot those frames.
