- Now Rich, when I think stabilization for bigger cameras, my mind automatically goes to something like a full-on Steadicam, or at the least, something like a Glidecam, you know, where it's kind of balanced out a little bit. But over the past few years, I think really, starting with kind of the DSLR revolution, we've seen the birth of a whole new type of system, and that is the larger, motorized, gimbal system. Tell us a little bit about that. - Yeah, well in this case, there are many solutions out there. - Many of them, yup. - And they range in price depending if you want to put a large camera on, or a DSLR on. What you're typically looking for is something rated for the weight of your camera. So if you're shooting on something like a GH4, you don't need that much, or an a7S. But if you're going to be attaching something heavier, well, make sure the gimbal can hold up, and do keep in mind, a lot of companies rent these. But essentially, it's a series of gyroscopes.
